Poem of the Week

Winter in February

Down south in the wintertime
a hint of spring lingers through the dark soil
shades of pink and white forming happy faces on the impatiens
whispering to each other by the lake when the warmer weather
would arrive and introduce new neighbors to them.

Soon tiny bulbs were planted nearby
tulips, crocuses, and hyacinths
not forgetting the bright yellow daffodils
excited to make new friends and talk about
their new lakeside home.
