Your Good Things In Life: Yes


Yes
your mortgage has been burned
Yes
that last college tuition payment has been paid off
Yes
the new wine in the oak barrel is getting richer
a hint of peach with cherry aroma
is drawn in with that small table top fan

Yes
the first residual check
has its rainbow
the amount approved by the tuxedo cat
right before
the Gund bear merrily deposits it into
your bank account

Yes
a Cheshire cat grin in the
photo on the nightstand
beckons
“Yes”
to your good things in life.

When Daddy Comes Around open mic Cafe in Chicago

I received a surprise email from Janet Kuypers, the editor of Children Churches and Daddies literary magazine with the wonderful news that she read my poem titled "When Daddy Comes Around" at an open mic night at the Cafe in Chicago on July 20, 2010. The event was video taped and posted to Youtube by Janet. Needless to say, this is a very thrilling experience for me, as she chose my poem to help promote her literary magazine.
